An update on the two week diet

I thought I would write a quick blog post about how my two week diet is progressing. If you want to discover the exact details of my diet, you can read this diet blog post.

Firstly I’m not going to share the actual weight loss figure, until this Saturday! However I was impressed by the amount I’ve lost (I weighed myself last Saturday morning), and I’m even considering extending the diet.

Allowing for a break day each Saturday (I’ve had one break day so far), means it is quite easy to stay on track.

Whilst I’ve been missing pasta, rice and potatoes, I’ve not been hungry after my meals. There has been no snacking other than on the break day, when I ate some biscuits.

The reduced bread intake has gone very well and inside of a traditional sandwich at lunch, I’ve swapped one bread for another, and now have two tortilla wraps, with a bit of cheese, but primarily a salad filling each day.

The lack of fruit was a concern initially, but I’ve fared okay. Though I am hugely missing fruit salads and bananas! I have been enjoying the extra large portions of salads I’ve been devouring.

There is a lot going on in my life currently, and it would be easy to leave the dieting to another time, but I’ve stuck with it, with my wonderful girlfriend supporting me throughout.

The lack of fruit has impacted my cold and hot drinks though. I don’t drink much assam tea these days and don’t touch coffee currently, but have been drinking either cold water or peppermint tea. Truth be told, I am hating my drinks, but you can’t have everything.

So with just over a few days left of the two weeks, I’m looking forward to the weigh-in.
