Past Revisited – Camberley Fun Run

It has been over eight months since my last ‘past revisited’ blog post! So without further hesitation I shall revisit my past!

Earlier in the week my father emailed me a photo of me during the ‘Camberley Fun Run’ taken many years ago. As photos often do, I suddenly remembered the moment with clarity. The photo captures me on the home stretch of the run, pushing my body to its limits, and instead of slowing, I’m picking up more speed, helped no-doubt by the fact my parents are cheering me along on the home stretch.

Camberley Fun Run

In my childhood years I was very active in sports and various physical activities including american football, cross-country, football, hockey, mountain biking, rugby, squash and swimming. I found the time for these activities, and when I completed my first Camberley fun run, I knew straight away I would do a second, to try and better my time.

That young Andrew had faced some tough times already, but his drive, optimism and willpower was incredible. If someone told me something couldn’t be done, I tended not to listen. This photo has got me thinking over the last couple of days.
