Playing around with panoramas

The panorama image above was taken at a nearby beach a couple of years ago. This blog post is essentially a test of whether I could embed a panorama image using a JavaScript applet into my blog. Hopefully you can see the panorama image via my website as I can. You can use your mouse, applet buttons or arrow keys on your keyboard to move left or right.

I love strolling along this beach, especially during winter. It is quiet and there is a great view, plus the wildlife hiding in the sand or amongst rocks and the occasional horse and rider galloping down the beach. Us locals enjoying a morning or afternoon stroll, watching the dogs chase after their tennis balls or occasionally owners trying to get their dogs to come back!

  1. Sorry, cannot see a photo on this page. I can see the beach hut photo on the “past revisited – the beach huts” page.

  2. aha, solved the missing panorama picture – bad version of flash player that didn’t work with Firefox 4 ….. now all visible on Firefox 6 with updated flash.

Nice panorama. Definitely worth using this sort of photo when setting context in a blog or a website dedicated to a particular place. I find I often check places out on Google Earth and do a 360degree spin to get a feel of the place before visiting.

  3. Hi Paul,

Excellent sir, glad you are able to see the panorama.

I’m the same with google earth. It is an incredible service.

Hope you have a grand weekend.

    Andrew
