My 2011 New Year Resolutions Revisited

So it has been almost eight months since I last wrote an update about my 2011 New Year Resolutions. Tempus Fugit! So time for another update.

Resolution 1: Walk more!

I started off with a decent stride, then faltered. Oh dear! I’d better make sure I get some serious walking in during the last four months.

Resolution 2: Try to avoid people who whinge.

A great success! There was a story behind this, but I don’t wish to be negative. Instead of listening to negative people, I’m now inspired most days by others. Makes a huge difference to life, not just on a daily basis, but a wider outlook.

Resolution 3: Learn a few new meals / recipes.

Oh dear, I can come up with any number of excuses for failing this thus far… but I plan on turning this around, especially as I love Autumn and Winter food. I’m always cooking, but I think I’ve only cooked one new meal this year.

Resolution 4: Write more!

Okay it probably should be write less! My writing output is through the roof and currently passing through the stratosphere. My daily writing output is staggering and recently it resulted in writing an article for a magazine. Plus other regular benefits are great conversations with inspiring people whilst researching.

Resolution 5: Improve my English and Maths.

I’m pretty darn good at English, but I feel there is always room for improvement. Helped by my writing and reading output, plus regular study, my English has evolved further.

I also deal with financial figures each week and instead of being lazy with a calculator or spreadsheet features, I often work out the figures, then verify my work. Even though I’m time poor these days, I still do it.

So lots of improvement, but some areas to play catch-up. It’s going to be a fun four months, please stick around for the updates.
