Yesterday we gave the bathroom the first of two coats of paint. The dark purple had to go and the room needed painting. The white paint we used not only helps with lighting in the room, but makes the room feel more spacious.
My girlfriend as I write is making a new curtain for the small window and I thought I would write about it.
A while back we had been on a caravan holiday and were sharing a room with only two single beds. As we needed bedding for the week, we brought some from a charity shop. We since kept this to use. Then with the help of net curtain wire and my girlfriends sewing skills, she is making a new curtain.
Another benefit of painting the room white is that we can use the colours of the curtains, flooring, towels, shower curtain etc to add the colour to the room. Also I suspect this will probably aid resell value of the property.

The curtain does look lovely. 🙂 Bathroom not quite there yet, needs another coat of white paint and we have other DIY work to complete in the bathroom.

Excellent your bathroom is white. That provides a blank canvas to enable you to add the personality and colours yourself. Far more flexible.

I love the idea of using white as your backdrop and adding colour in other decorative ways … that’s the plan I have for our place too (especially the bathroom which is currently way too blue and in need of a renovation).
I think white is the best way to keep things understated and allow a few special items to take centre stage.

Best of luck with your bathroom renovation. The white has made such a dramatic difference. The sun coming through the curtain my better half made and the colour gently reflecting on the white walls, was just amazing. Wish we had made the change sooner.
Yep we are quite busy project wise currently. We have drawn up a list and already tackled ten of the items over the last few weeks. A long way to go though.
