Book Review: Emergency: This Book Will Save Your Life – Neil Strauss

Neil Strauss - Emergency

I will admit the first hundred pages I didn’t enjoy. However they were important to the background of why Neil wanted to be prepared for an emergency.

So what sort of emergency? Well that’s the problem isn’t it, there can be so many. From earthquakes to countries falling apart. An ’empire’ crashing and a region quickly turning into a mad max situation.

This isn’t a survival tip book, written by an ex-sas chap, with each page chock a block of tips. This is a journey of possibilities, learning…. and okay there were a bundle of survival tips and related stories. From Neil learning how to survive without utilities, eat the local plants or evading capture, it was all so…. well interesting. Even if your not thinking of such measures yourself, it was interesting.

Now I’m a vegetarian, so couldn’t stand the part about the goat. So vegetarians etc be warned. I don’t want to give the ending away, but it was surprising and shows the journey wasn’t just about learning to deal with situations, but the motivations and more. So don’t just read this if your concerned about surviving in a situation, read this to follow Neil’s story. It didn’t disappoint and other than the first goat incident, was a good read.
